Take control on every aspect of your photos. Its main claim to fame is its exceptional raw processing quality, combined with DxO’s lab-developed lens correction profiles. Using this data, they have designed algorithms that not only take care of some of the curvature and aberrations, but also a way of counteracting some of the softening outside of the more traditional techniques like USM. DxO PhotoLab provides a complete set of smart assisted corrections that you can manually fine-tune at any time. DxO PhotoLab 5 is part raw processing tool and part image editor, with some basic but effective image browsing and organizing tools thrown in. This information applies to version(s): 6ĭxO PhotoLab is available in two new editions, ESSENTIAL and ELITE, which support the same camera equipment (with exception of Fujifilm X-Trans-Sensors *), but offer a different number of features. This allows DxO to understand the 'flaws' of each lens, at different focal lengths, focus distances and apertures. However, my conclusion is that it is not worth getting in addition to PhotoLab Elite as virtually everything I could do in the plugins is available in PL Elite, but with a far better UI and the ability to edit RAW files directly instead of being forced to create an exported TIF.
